We all must cross alone,
When we split from meat and bone.
For time does wound,
And so does space,
A precious boon,
Thus displaced.
We all must pay the boat,
Our own coin, to cross the moat.
For time is long
In the in between,
A precious song
Now obscene.
We all must lose it all
When, at last, we go all in.
The game is rigged.
We're born to lose,
Our best unhinged
Not bemused.
We all must cross alone.
